Food was amazing, had so much inside the Taco's. We got served right away and the place is very spacious. A wonderful place to eat without the bustle of center city. We will return.
Great food. An asset to our community. James and the staff welcome you warmly into the casual restaurant. Find a table and check the menu. The shrimp soup is mild and fabulous- perfect for a comfort food day. The fish tacos are delish- chunks of fried fish with a spicy purple cabbage slaw with just the right amount of heat. Chili relleños are great ( particularly with green sauce) and their taco salads are light & tasty. The food is consistently good- home cooking style. Everything is made with love and you can taste it.
What it lacks it makes up for in charm. Welcomed w/ chips & salsa (puréed thin, good texture, but prefer more cilantro & heat). Beef Chimichanga good, but just straight up ground beef with minimal flair. Enjoyed Shrimp Chimichanga more since it was creamier & texture interrupted by chunky shrimp & bell pepper. What blew me away was menu item I generally have no use for- Tortilla soup. (Not a fan of soggy chips floating in broth). This was fantastic! Flavorful broth with diced tomato, a ball of soft, creamy, cheese, a sunken bed of rice, & fried tortilla strips that were soft but still had texture. Everything here is just a bit muted. You won't find strong flavors or lots of heat (the locals would never go for it) but food has fresh, homemade, simplicity that scratches the itch. Fried ice cream is a nice finish. Wait staff is young family that takes pride in delivering food to your table. A happy addition to the zip code & maybe the only Latin food for miles.
I cannot give this place a better review. Wish I could give it 10 stars! I supported this place at it's previous location in Robesonia and I'm so happy they got the chance to expand and stick around town. They are fast, friendly, and the food is phenomenal. You can tell they cook with love. If you love Mexican food... you need to try this place. You won't be disappointed!
Me and my girlfriend had lunch together and found the service to be very nice and friendly. We had the chimichangas her the chicken and myself the beef with rice and beans. The food was delicious and filling with large portions. We had the fried ice cream for dessert and it was very well presented and delicious. We will be coming back.
